By the mid-1990s (1996, to be exact), a select number of DIY/PUNK/INDIE guitar-leaning bands noticeably began to include “experimentation” in their idea of rock and roll. In spiritual parlance, these groups “finally” saw the light by attuning to this musical form. The once-loathed synthesizer now had a prominent place at the table again as new wave aesthetics replaced teen-angst dramatics, and albums with barcodes began to reclaim credibility from listeners.

Consisting of four friends from Little Rock yearning to create new music to stand apart from their past accomplishments, The Divine Hook-Up sprang up a very temporary existence during this era of musical change. The seven recordings of this release represent said group’s entire creative output. A blend of too many descriptors to list here, The Divine Hook-Up’s sound teeters the raucous and the sublime. Enjoy the frequencies.
